FIELD GUIDE / EARBUD FIT

Good days start with a good fit.

Start with the five-step fitting guide, then answer three questions for an adjustment plan shaped around what you feel.

ON THE GEAR BENCH

Fit one ear at a time.

FIELD NOTES

Use a quiet room and a mirror. Keep the earbuds off while you work on the fit. If your ears are already sore, remove the earbuds and let the irritation settle before trying again.

  1. Start with clean hands and intact tips.

Wash and dry your hands. Take out one earbud and inspect its tip for tears, dirt or a loose attachment. Set damaged tips aside. Keep the unused sizes on a clean surface so you can compare them.

Look for: A clean, undamaged tip that is fully attached to the earbud.

  2. Choose a size for this ear.

Start with the attached tip. If it feels loose, compare it with the next larger included size. If it creates pressure, remove it and try a smaller size once your ear is comfortable. Change one thing at a time; your left and right ears may need different sizes.

Aim for: Gentle contact without pinching, pain or the need to keep pushing.

  3. Place it gently, then let go.

Match the earbud to the correct ear using its left/right identification. Hold the body of the earbud, bring the tip to the ear-canal opening and seat it gently, using the supplied fitting illustration for orientation. Let go once it rests comfortably. If you meet resistance, remove it and start again.

Avoid: Forcing the earbud deeper to make a loose tip stay in place.

  4. Check it during normal movement.

Say a few words, open and close your jaw, and slowly turn your head from side to side. Notice whether the earbud shifts, presses against your outer ear or needs repeated adjustment. If it moves, take it out, check the tip attachment and try the fit again.

Look for: Consistent comfort while talking and moving. This is a comfort check, not a noise-protection test.

  5. Repeat on the other side.

Fit the second ear separately rather than copying the first ear’s tip size. Once both feel comfortable, wear them briefly in the quiet room. Remove them by holding the earbud body and withdrawing gently. Keep a note of which supplied tip you preferred on each side.

Before heading out: Resolve slipping or discomfort first. Use the questions below for a more specific next step.
